Itinerary
Monday We shall depart Carlisle at 8am. After comfort stops on route we will arrive at our hotel in time to enjoy a nice walk and our evening meal.
Tuesday Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Dartmouth Cruise
After breakfast we will make our way to Dartmouth Steam Railway in Paignton for a seven mile run along the scenic Torbay coast to Kingswear. We will cross the River Dart on foot by passenger ferry to Dartmouth where we board a boat for an hour long circular river cruise with opportunities to see traditional waterside villages, Britannia Royal Naval College, and Greenway House, home to the late Dame Agatha Christie. Returning to our hotel to relax and enjoy our evening meal.
Wednesday Kent Cavern and Bygones
Today after breakfast we will make our way to Kents Cavern, this is one of the most important Stone Age cave sights in Europe. Here we take a one-hour private tour to discover how a team of Victorian excavators uncovered the story of Britain's oldest human dwelling. After lunch its time to visit Bygones,
Thursday Day at leisure to explore the local area.
Friday Dartmoor and Plymouth
After breakfast we will take a scenic tour across the Dartmoor National Park before dropping down into the maritime city of Plymouth, where there's free time to explore the city's many attractions.
Saturday Day at leisure to collect those last minute souvenirs of your holidays.
Sunday Today we say farewell to your hosts and start our homeward journey, after comfort stops on route we shall arrive back in Carlisle early evening.
We shall be staying at the Carlton Hotel in Torquay, situated just a short distance from the sea front and town centre. It has its own restaurant and shares extensive facilities which includes a choice of lounges and bars and a huge indoor leisure complex with pools, sauna and solarium. There is also a games room, ten pin bowling and an indoor long mat bowling arena
All rooms are ensuite equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, TV and hairdryer. This hotel has a lift.
We shall be staying on a Half board basis (Dinner,bed & breakfast)
